Mariolina Salio

Mariolina Salio obtained her degree in Medicine from the University of Torino, Italy and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Basel Institute for Immunology. After 22 years at the MRC Human Immunology Unit in Oxford she joined Immunocore in January 2022, to lead research on unconventional T cell targets, including CD1, MR1 and gd ligands. Ultimately, her interest lies in designing strategies to harness both conventional and innate-like T cells to improve adaptive immunity in cancer. As a Director of Research and Fellow in Immunology, Mariolina is also keen to bridge Academia and Industry through cutting edge collaborations and to train the next generation of multi-disciplinary immunologists.
